The Air Jordan 12 Retro "Obsidian" marks the 30th anniversary of one of the silhouette’s most collector-revered colorways, and multiple sources confirm a 2027 construction more faithful to the 1997 original than the 2012 retro — a shape correction that has been due for fifteen years.

Obsidian covers the primary leather panels in a deep, slightly warm navy built on a full-grain leather upper. Tinker Hatfield’s signature crosshatch stitching runs the lateral vamp — the AJ12’s most immediately recognizable surface texture. French Blue and University Blue land on the outsole and selected midsole accents, creating a three-blue relationship collectors have informally linked to Jordan’s University of North Carolina palette since 1997. White arrives on the stitching lines, eyelets, and midsole border as the clean neutral anchor.
